Founded in 1948 and incorporated in 1972, Peter J Caruso & Sons Inc is a commercial asphalt paving and excavating company. At our inception, our commercial asphalt company worked in a single-bay wooden garage. Today, we’re in a full-service seven-bay shop with over 10,000 square feet of office space. It took years of hard work, dedication, and investing in our business to see this kind of growth.
Additionally, we’ve spent the last few decades building excellent relationships with many of the region’s businesses, commercial property owners, agencies, and associates in the construction field. We’ve earned a reputation for providing top-notch work with the highest quality customer service.
Our organization has been instrumental in helping to construct a number of projects that have shaped the way of life for southwestern PA residents. We got our start working on gas stations and housing plans in the 50s and neighborhood businesses and shopping centers in the 60s.
During the boom of shopping mall construction in the 70s and 80s, we were there to provide asphalt paving and site development. In the 90s, we built and expanded area hospital lots, roadways, airports, churches, schools and colleges.
We have provided the paving and maintenance for Kennywood Park for over 30 years, and we also helped to build Lost Kennywood and Sandcastle Water Park. We were once also a part of the parking lot maintenance at Three Rivers Stadium.
In the last decade, we have built parking lots for PNC Park and Heinz Field, and we’ve also expanded the parking lots at Pittsburgh International Airport four times. We have paved paved Consol Park in Washington, North Hills Village Mall, Tanger Outlets, and re-constructed the Monroeville Expo Mart Convention Center. All of this work was accomplished while we built and maintained hundreds of sites for local businesses and governmental agencies.
We’re always looking for new and better ways to improve the products we offer while keeping prices minimal. That’s why we’ve been recycling pavement for over 20 years! We have also been recycling concrete for the last 10 years.
Our recycled asphalt and concrete are crushed and screened for use as a cost-saving alternative sub-base material for commercial projects. Both our crushed asphalt and concrete have been tested and approved for use by different independent testing labs, which assures you can receive the secure results you want at a price you can afford.
